Darcey McClam, Myofunctional Therapist
Darcey is a passionate myofunctional therapist with over 18 years of experience as a registered dental hygienist. Her journey into oral health began as an orthodontic assistant, where she developed a deep curiosity about how structure impacts function throughout the body. Years into her dental hygiene career, Darcey began noticing a recurring pattern—many of her patients suffered from symptoms like chronic mouth breathing, TMJ pain, fatigue, and sleep issues. Traditional care often offered only short-term relief. That realization led her to myofunctional therapy, a root-cause solution that finally connected the dots she had been seeing for years.
Darcey is a proud graduate of MyoMentor and an active MMT member, committed to staying current with the latest research and best practices. She is also a certified MyoMunchee provider, a certified Myobrace educator, a graduate of the MyoPathways comprehensive course, and a member of the International Association of Airway Hygienists (IAAH). Her love for learning is ongoing—she is continuously immersed in study groups, courses, and clinical education to strengthen her skills and better support her patients.
She founded McClam Family Myo with a mission to make therapy accessible, effective, and deeply personalized. Darcey is dedicated to meeting each patient where they are and helping them build the tools and habits for lifelong improvement. She often works collaboratively with other providers to ensure her patients receive truly comprehensive care.
When she’s not working or learning, Darcey loves spending time outdoors with her supportive husband and energetic 5-year-old son. Together, they enjoy hiking, kayaking, camping, ATV riding—and are on a mission to visit all 42 of North Carolina’s state parks.
