Our Focus

Tongue-Tie Evaluation, Referral, and Release support

Our team specializes in evaluating individuals for the presence of tongue-tie. We carefully assess the lingual frenulum and its impact on oral function. If necessary, we provide referrals to trusted healthcare professionals for a formal diagnosis and potential treatment, including frenectomy or frenuloplasty procedures. We also offer comprehensive pre and post-surgery support, utilizing myofunctional therapy to optimize the healing process and ensure improved oral muscle function.

Tongue Thrust Correction

Tongue thrust, also known as orofacial myofunctional disorder, is a condition where the tongue pushes against or between the teeth during swallowing. Our therapists are experienced in diagnosing and treating tongue thrust, helping patients establish proper swallowing patterns, improved sleep and achieving balanced orofacial muscle function.

Jaw Pain and Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD) Relief

If you experience jaw pain, clenching/grinding, or limited jaw movement, you may be dealing with temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD). Our therapists provide targeted orofacial myofunctional therapy to alleviate TMD symptoms by improving muscle balance, reducing tension, and promoting proper jaw alignment.

My Approach
Sleep-Disordered Breathing and Airway Improvement

Sleep-disordered breathing, including conditions like mouth breathing, snoring and sleep apnea, can be related to orofacial muscle dysfunction. We offer therapy programs to address airway issues and promote healthy breathing patterns during sleep. Our approach aims to enhance airway function, reduce snoring, and improve overall sleep quality.

Orthodontic Support

For individuals undergoing orthodontic treatment, orofacial myofunctional therapy can be a valuable addition to the process. We will work collaboratively with orthodontists to optimize treatment outcomes and ensuring longterm retention by addressing underlying muscle imbalances, tongue posture, and swallowing patterns.

Buteyko Breathing Technique

We offer Buteyko Breathing technique as a specialized service to help individuals improve their breathing habits and achieve better respiratory function. Buteyko Breathing focuses on reducing chronic hyperventilation and increasing carbon dioxide levels in the body, leading to improved oxygenation and overall health.

Family and Group Therapy

At McClam Family Myo, we understand that each patient is unique and sometimes multiple family members need treatment. We specialize in supporting the entire family by offering group sessions at an affordable rate in order to make therapy accessible to as many people as possible. We tailor our treatment plans to meet each patient's needs but offer a program the entire family can benefit from together.

Virtual Sessions

For the convenience and accessibility of our patients, we offer virtual orofacial myofunctional therapy sessions. Through secure video conferencing, our therapists can guide you through exercises, provide education, and monitor progress, all from the comfort of your own home.

Oral Health Coaching

In addition to our therapy services, we provide oral health coaching to help individuals establish and maintain optimal oral health. Our coaches offer guidance on effective brushing and flossing techniques as well as product and dietary recommendations to support the highest level of oral health. Healthy oral hygiene practices support the benefits of orofacial myofunctional therapy.
